The 7th Annual Ride the Rails for Cancer was held in Middletown PA at Hoffer Park on Sat June 13th & Sunday June 14th. Every year this event gets better and better. The Middletown Arts & Craft Fair moved back to Hoffer Park and working to promote both events with them helped both our events. The weather was great, the crowds were large and the ridership was fantastic! This year we gave 443 train rides and donated $4300.00 to Vickie’s Angel Foundation. Lots of smiles and even some of the families came out for a ride again this year. Even Coco the Bear from the Hershey Bears was there for a train ride! Of particular interest was one little boy and his Dad who make this event his annual birthday present. Thank you to many volunteers, our host railroad, the Middletown & Hummelstown and Vickie’s Angel Foundation for their support thru the past 7 years. But wait!!! There’s more!!! Yes, another Ride the Rails for Cancer will be held in 2015. We plan to do 2 train rides per year. Our Fall event will take place at Kutztown PA on the Allentown & Auburn Railroad.
