Vickie’s Angel Walk to Participate in Angel 34 Field Hockey Classic
Emmaus, Pennsylvania – October 30, 2009 – Vickie’s Angel Walk will participate in The 2009 Angel 34 Field Hockey Classic to be played on Sunday November 8th at Emmaus High School. Senior Players from District XI High School will compete in two games versus teams from District III. Proceeds from the game will benefit Angel 34 and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
The Angel 34 Foundation was started by Nicole Sheriff, a student at Northampton High School, in 2003 during her battle with cancer. During her freshman year Nicole took her battle onto the playing field and got teams in District XI to support her cause, “That Every Child Have Their Own Angel During Their Battle With Cancer.” Over the next month and a half, the teams helped to raise over $15,000.00 to jump-start Nicole’s foundation and support her ICEE Program.
Games times are at 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Admission is $5 Adults $3 for Students and Senior Citizens. This month, Vickie’s Angel Walk will be holding the 4th Annual 5K SMT Turkey Trot on November the 26th. Vickie’s Angel Walk Inc is a 501 (c) 3 non profit with a mission of helping families fighting cancer who have difficulty paying their bills because of the cancer. Our goal is to take the financial worry away from the family so they all can focus on the cancer and not their finances. In many cases Vickie’s Angel Walk is a temporary bridge to get the family from despair as to how they are going to pay their bills to where they can focus on Love, Faith and Hope and curing their cancer. We help in blocks on three months and 100% of the money we raise from the walk goes directly to our families.
